Full color printing, even if you only need one shirt

DTG printing and DTF transfers let us print photographs, gradients, and full color artwork on a single shirt for the same reason we can print it on twenty. No screens, no setup fees, no talking you into a bigger order than you need.

No minimum order Full color, no color limits Ships in 3 to 5 days

Most print shops have a minimum. Twelve pieces, twenty four, sometimes more. That works fine for a company softball team. It does not work when you need one memorial shirt for a battle buddy's service on Saturday. It does not work when you want five homecoming shirts for the kids on the tarmac, each a different size, each with Dad's photo on the front. And it does not work for the guy who wants a single retirement gift with forty years of squadron patches across the back.

That is exactly what this service exists for. DTG and DTF are digital printing methods, so there are no screens to burn and no setup to pay off across a big run. One shirt costs what one shirt costs. If you have been searching for no minimum custom shirts, or a way to print my own design on a shirt without buying a dozen, you found the right page.

The other half of the story is color. Traditional screen printing charges by the color, so a design with a photograph in it gets expensive fast at small quantities. Digital printing does not care. A one color design and a full color photo of your old fire team cost the same to print. That makes this the go-to for full color t shirt printing at any quantity under about two dozen pieces.

DTG vs DTF vs screen printing, side by side

We run all three in house, so we have no reason to steer you wrong. Here is the honest comparison.

Short version: under 24 pieces, or any design with a photograph in it, you want DTG or DTF. At 24 or more identical shirts, screen printing usually wins on price per piece, and we will tell you so before you pay us a dime.

What DTG printing actually is

DTG stands for direct-to-garment. The simplest way to think about it: an industrial inkjet printer built for shirts instead of paper. The shirt loads onto a platen, the printhead lays water-based ink directly into the fabric, and a heat press cures it. Because the ink soaks into the fibers instead of sitting on top, a DTG print is the softest print you can buy. You can barely feel it.

There is one step most people never see, and it matters. Before printing on dark garments, we spray the shirt with pretreatment, a clear liquid that lets a white ink underbase bond to the fabric. Without it, colors sink into a black shirt and disappear. Pretreatment applied evenly and cured properly is half the difference between a print that pops and one that looks washed out on day one.

DTG loves cotton. The best results come off 100% ringspun cotton tees like the ones we stock from Bella+Canvas and Gildan. Now the honest part, because we would rather lose a sale than surprise you: DTG is not the right call for polyester performance shirts, and on dark heather blends the print comes out a little more muted and vintage looking. Some folks love that faded look. If you want maximum punch on a tri-blend or a poly shirt, that is a DTF job, and we will route it there automatically.

What DTF transfers are, and why we love them

DTF stands for direct-to-film. Instead of printing on the shirt, we print your design in full color onto a clear film, dust the wet ink with a powdered adhesive, cure it, and then heat press the finished transfer onto the garment. The result is a thin, flexible print that stretches with the fabric and holds up remarkably well in the wash.

The reason DTF transfers have taken over small batch shirt printing is versatility. Cotton, 50/50 blends, tri-blends, 100% polyester, even nylon jackets and canvas tote bags all take a DTF transfer cleanly. If your order mixes a cotton tee, a poly performance shirt, and a hoodie, DTF handles all three with the same crisp color.

DTF also gives us gang sheets, print-shop talk for laying out many designs on one large film to print together. Practical upshot: an order with a left-chest logo, a full back print, and twelve different names and numbers is efficient to produce, so mixed small orders stay affordable. Reunion shirts where every shirt says something different, team shirts with call signs on the back, that is DTF territory all day.

WHEN IT MATTERS MOST

Custom memorial shirts, handled with care

A lot of the one-off work that comes through this shop is memorial work. Shirts with a photo, a name, a date, and a line of scripture or a unit motto, printed for a funeral, a Memorial Day ruck, or the anniversary of a loss. We are veterans. We understand what these shirts are and what they are not. They are not merchandise. We treat them accordingly.

Two things we do on every memorial order. First, we clean up the photo at no charge within reason. Old boot camp photos, scanned polaroids, a cropped image pulled from a phone, we will lightly restore, sharpen, and balance it so it prints with dignity. If the photo needs heavier restoration work our design team can take it further. Second, we move fast when a family needs shirts before a service. Tell us the date of the service when you order and we will build the schedule backward from it. If the timeline is tight, call us. We have stayed late for this before and we will do it again.

"My brother's service was on a Friday and I called them the Monday before, a mess, with one photo from his deployment. They had 12 shirts to my mom's house in 3 days and the photo looked better than the original. They never once made it feel like a transaction."

Danielle R., Gold Star sister

There is no minimum on memorial shirts and no rush fee for families of the fallen. That is just the policy.

Homecoming shirts and one-off gifts

The happier side of the same coin. Homecoming shirts are one of our favorite jobs in the building: a toddler 2T, a youth medium, and two adult shirts, all with the same photo and "WELCOME HOME DADDY" across the front, ready before the plane lands. DTF does not care about garment size or fabric, so one design spreads across whatever mix your family needs, onesies to a 4XL for Grandpa.

Same goes for gifts. A one off custom shirt with a photo of the old motor pool crew for a retirement. Your dad's ship silhouette for Father's Day. A barracks inside joke exactly three people on earth will understand. One shirt, full color, no judgment on the joke.

Have your design ready? Here is how to send it

If you already have artwork, the process is about as simple as it gets.

01

Upload your file

A PNG at 300 DPI, sized at the dimensions you want it printed, is the gold standard. A transparent background prints cleanest, otherwise your design comes with a rectangle of background color around it. We accept JPG, PDF, AI, and PSD too.

02

We check it, free

Every file gets human eyes before it prints. If your art is too low resolution to print sharp, we tell you before we run it, not after. Minor fixes are on the house.

03

Approve the proof, we print

You get a digital proof showing placement and size on the actual garment. Once you approve, we print and ship in 3 to 5 business days.

No art yet? No problem. Our design services team builds custom artwork every day, from a rough phone sketch to "I want my platoon guidon but make it look good on a shirt." Or start from one of the ready-made designs in our shop and we will customize it.

Frequently asked questions

Is it really no minimum, or is there a catch?

Really no minimum. Order one shirt. As a typical example, a single full color tee runs around $25 to $30 shipped, and the per-shirt price steps down as quantity climbs. There is no setup fee and no small order surcharge hiding in the cart.

How durable are DTF prints in the wash?

Very. A properly pressed DTF transfer typically outlasts the shirt's shape, resisting cracking and peeling for 50+ washes. Wash inside out in cold water, skip the bleach and fabric softener, and hang dry or tumble low. Same care advice applies to DTG.

Can you print a photo of my old unit on a shirt?

Yes, that is one of our most common orders. Group photos, deployment photos, a scanned picture of the old squadron, all of it prints in full color, and we lightly restore rough or faded photos for free. One note: official unit insignia and branch seals are reproduced only where trademark licensing allows, and we flag restricted emblems up front.

What file formats do you accept?

PNG at 300 DPI with a transparent background is ideal. We also take JPG, PDF, AI, PSD, and SVG. If all you have is a screenshot or a phone photo of a drawing, send it anyway and we will tell you honestly whether it will print well.

Can I mix sizes and garment colors in one order?

Yes, freely. A youth small in red, an adult large in black, and a 3XL hoodie in gray can all carry the same design in one order. Build the order your family or team actually needs.

Can you ship a gift order directly to the recipient?

Absolutely. Give us their address at checkout and add a gift note if you want. The package ships with no pricing inside, anywhere in the US, including APO, FPO, and DPO addresses, because half of us have lived at one.
